Celebrate Earth Day

With Earth Day approaching tomorrow, let's take a time out and think about
what we can do to help the environment. Did you know that the 1st Earth day
was on April 22, 1970?
Black-Eyed Susans
According to earthday.org, "It activated 20 million Americans from all walks of life and is widely credited with launching the modern environmental movement. More than 1 billion people now participate in Earth Day activities each year, making it the largest civic observance in the world."
Reuse your water bottle... Wash your clothes in cold water.
Turn off and shut down your electronics when not in use.
Use a push mower... Please share more tips in the comments section.

Decorating Ideas - How to Arrange Art on Your Walls

When a customer purchases one of my watercolor paintings, I often get asked the question, "How should I arrange the art on my wall?". Even though this is a very good question, there is no right or wrong answer. Some formal dining rooms call for symmetry, while modern living room spaces might entertain a mix matched collage. It simply is a matter of your personal taste. After all, people buy art that pleases them and makes them happy; therefore, do what feels natural and right to you. I have collected an assortment of wall displays to give you some ideas.

Bright Ideas: Fireplace Mantels

Your mantel and fireplace are usually the key focal points in your living room and you want them to make a statement. These fireplace mantels add character to your wall and raise your eye level up. Place a large mirror on the mantel to create even more depth to your room. Voila!
Fireplace mantels
Either a fireplace surround or shelf will make a dramatic change to the look of your room. The warm tones in the wood also give an inviting and comfortable feel.

Do you need a large piece of art to display over your mantel?
such as my large giclee on canvas: "Caribbean Time".
